Important Information: Employers

THE ARRANGEMENT ON PAYING MONTHLY SALARY

ALL SALARY PAYMENTS MUST BE ON TIME AND FULLY PAID

Currently HKSAR Government sets the salary rate of FDH at HKD4,310.00. Employers are expected to pay the employee no later than 7 days after the last working day of the last month. For example, if the FDH last working day of the month is 31 July, then the employer is expected to pay before 7 August.

LEAVE AND HOLIDAY ARRANGEMENTS

ALL HOLIDAYS MUST BE RECORDED

All FDH deserves at least one rest day in every 7 days period, and the rest day is consider as continuous period of not less than 24 hours.

Employers can not require the FDH to work during the rest day or holiday, including when the FDH returns home at the rest day. Also, employers is not allowed to ask the FDH to give up a statutory holiday or any rest day in exchange for extra wages.

STATUTORY HOLIDAYS ARRANGEMENT

ALSO KNOWN AS PUBLIC HOLIDAY

All FDH are entitled to 12 statutory holidays in a year, irrespective of the length of service.

The FDH is entitled to the holiday pay only after the helper has been employed continuously by the employer for three months.

ANNUAL LEAVE & VACATION LEAVE ARRANGEMENT

HOLIDAYS ENTITLED TO THE FDH EVERY YEAR

A FDH is entitled to annual leave with pay after having been employed under a continuous contract for every 12 months. An employee's entitlement to paid annual leave increases progressively from seven days to a maximum of 14 days according to his length of service
